My name is Xolani Msweli,I was born in the Eastern Cape, I am 35 years, old. I started out working as the gate guy at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, in 2004. Slowly but surely, over the years, I worked my way up to the position of lodge Bar Manager.
A highlight of my career at Grootbos was being voted the most upcoming Sommelier in the country at the Cape Legend Inter Hotel Challenge.
I am now a Overstrand ward councillor in Masakhane and have recently joined the board of the Grootbos Foundation. I am passionate about fighting poverty and uplifting communities in my area and my role as ward councillor and board member of the Grootbos Foundation helps me live my passion. In order to best fulfil my roles and follow my passion I have gone back to my studies and I am currently the process of studying a course in Public Accountability at the Nelson Mandela University.
