Teams as far afield, as Mount Pleasant and Hermanus, took part and teams from the under 11s through to adult teams played into the early hours!
The 24Hour Football fundraiser was the brainchild of two Dutch interns at the Grootbos Foundation, Ruud and Glenn, who are passionate about making a positive impact on the community. Their dedication and determination is a true inspiration to what can be achieved. With their leadership and the phenomenal help of The Football Foundation the delivery of this event would not have been possible!
The spirit at this community event was warm and supportive from start to finish and well into the night crowds of family and passers-by all came to cheer and offer loud encouragement to the players.
So far a phenomenal R 30 000 was raised towards a vehicle that will help Football Foundation kids get to their matches. A special thanks to all the sleep deprived supporters and Mr & Mrs Balles who donated soccer balls and bibs for the event! Weereens Baie Dankie! Thank you! Enkosi! For all the support!
