We recently added a bit of colour to an otherwise concrete 11 metre wall at our community farm project. We were so fortunate to have the help of Mies (Marisa Coetzee), a young up and coming investment artist and her husband Wihan, who came all the way from Pretoria to join in the fun and give of their time. Mies has been so supportive of the Foundation and it’s work and has contributed a work to our charity auction two years running. This time, Mies really got stuck in and not only added colour to an otherwise drab piece of concrete but added a feature and attraction to the site and to our community. We now have people driving by just to take a look at the mural!
When Mies sent through the design and the colours she needed, the Foundation staff were enthusiastic but also daunted as to how we were going to get this done. As with all Foundation team undertakings, the team pulls together and everyone get’s involved. Children from the community also had the opportunity to add some colour and at one point we had over 50 children on the site, armed with paint brushes, doing their bit. A humble and sincere thank you to Mies and her husband Wihan for their time and helping the Foundation add some colour to our communities lives.
