Our Green Futures students recently visited Cape Town's Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, one of the most spectacular gardens of the world. Apart from the visit exposing the students to this 36 hectare collection of Cape Flora, this trip served as an interactive learning experience for the students.
They were given the opportunity to interact with two former Green Futures students who are now working at Kirstenbosch and saw first-hand what working in the field entails. They were taken on a guided tour followed by a presentation highlighting the technicalities of growing a bonsai.
The field trip and exposure to this world class garden was a great experience for all.
