The time of year has come for our intrepid Green Futures Students to go out and explore the big wide world! Each year the students get placed in one of three places for three weeks of practical training and experience. It is a fantastic thrill for the youngsters, an a great way for them to experience something different to the Green Futures College.
The first and most prestigeous destination is the EDEN Project in Cornwall, UK! It is a huge honour to be one of the three students who goes to EDEN, and the selection process is started by the students themselves voting which three of their classmate they think deserve to go. The lecturers then have a say, and finally an independant panel interviews all the students. This year we are very proud to have Promise, Anecke and Lukas as ambassadors for Green Futures and South Africa at EDEN. The three are accompanied by Susan Lochner, and left on Sunday the 28th of June.

A second batch of students spend their three weeks at the beautiful Harold Porter Botanical Gardens in Betties Bay, while a third group go to the Kirstenbosch National Gardens in Cape Town.
Its always an extremely exciting time for all involved, and I look forward to relating some of their stories so keep an eye on the blog.
